Is My VPN Working? A Repeatable Check

Use a before-and-after comparison instead of relying on a badge.

Run the check

  1. Use the same device and browser for both results.
  2. Record only the minimum details you need; do not share a full IP address publicly.
  3. Change one condition, then reload and compare.

Worked example

Open Terbit IP before connecting and record only the country, provider and whether IPv4 or IPv6 appears. Connect the VPN, reload, then compare. A changed public address and network provider are consistent with VPN routing, but do not prove complete protection.

How to interpret an inconclusive result

If the address does not change, reconnect, choose another server and test again. If WebRTC shows an address, compare it carefully; private, mDNS and VPN-assigned addresses are not automatically leaks.

Limitations

These checks observe browser-visible network behavior at one moment. They do not audit encryption, account safety, malware, every DNS route or every application on the device.
