TASK GUIDE

Does Incognito Hide My IP?

Private browsing limits local history; it does not normally change the public IP visible to websites.

Run the check

  1. Use the same device and browser for both results.
  2. Record only the minimum details you need; do not share a full IP address publicly.
  3. Change one condition, then reload and compare.

Worked example

Open Terbit IP in a normal window, note the public address, then open a private window on the same network. The address will usually match. A VPN or different network changes routing; incognito mode alone does not.

How to interpret an inconclusive result

Use private mode to reduce saved local browsing data. Use network tools separately when you need to change the public route, and verify the result rather than assuming.

Limitations

These checks observe browser-visible network behavior at one moment. They do not audit encryption, account safety, malware, every DNS route or every application on the device.
